So, You Want to Become a Boondocker?
Yeah, with RV parks charging hotel-sized rates for a slab of asphalt, and campgrounds requiring a 6-month waiting list to get in, it’s no wonder RVers are thinking about boondocking.
Full time boondocking has been our gig since 2017.
We’ve researched the laws and regulations about camping on public lands and feel pretty comfortable about what’s legal and what’s not.
This substack tells you about all the places you can camp, what you’ll need to boondock comfortably, and hopefully dispel some of the myths out there.
Heck, you’ve been paying taxes all this time! You may as well get some use from all the public land out there!
It was actually 2013 that we became road nomads, but we originally did it on motorcycles. We run a website design business while traveling across the United States. We got into RVing because we had enough of getting rained on, hailed on, or having to ride under 100+ degree F weather.
We started Boondocker’s Bible in 2019 after a couple years of boondocking under our belt. Since then, we’ve been interviewed on National Public Radio and New York Magazine. We’ve been mentioned in dozens of RVing publications like RV Travel, Good Sam Club, and Cruise America. We’ve made appearances on podcasts too.
